Manuel Offenberg

CTO/Chief Architect

Manuel is the CTO/Chief Architect for Seagate Federal, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Seagate Technology. He joined Seagate in 2001 and in 2005 became the security architect in the newly created Security Engineering team in 2005, where he was instrumental in launching the first Self-Encrypting Drive (SED). During that time Manuel participated in multiple international standard organizations where he co-authored several storage security specifications. From 2015 until 2017 Manuel held the position of Engineering Director responsible for Seagate’s first secure scale-out storage appliance for HPC. In 2017 he established and managed the Data Security team within Seagate Research. Manuel is an inventor on multiple patents and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands.
